Introducing recommended spots for summer in Jozankei

Jozankei

This is a light-up event that makes use of nature and is held in the area from Jozankei Futami Park to Futami Suspension Bridge. Produced in 2016 by the creative group "NAKED," you can experience a fantastical artwork space.
*Entry is limited to guests staying at Jozankei Onsen.

Toyohira River

Enjoy the popular SUP and canoe tours on the Toyohira River that flows next to our hotel!
The river is about 1 meter deep on average, and the current is gentle. The guide will give you a lecture, so even first-timers can join with confidence.

Mt. Sapporo and Mt. Hakken

Jozankei, located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, is a popular area for climbers with its many mountains. Among them, Mt. Sapporo, located upstream of the Toyohira River that flows through Sapporo City, is a large mountain in Jozankei with an altitude of 1,293 meters. It is a popular mountain that can be enjoyed by a wide range of climbers, with the Reisui Course that even beginners can climb and the rugged Toyotaki Course for advanced climbers.

The Futami Jozan Path

A famous spot where you can see the clear stream and the valley in perfect balance. We recommend enjoying the view of Jozankei from the bridge and the nature reflected on the water's surface. Walking along the nature trail surrounded by fresh green trees allows you to experience the vastness of nature that only a national park can offer. The view of the vermilion Futami Suspension Bridge from below as you descend into the valley is also spectacular.

Shiraito Falls

A hidden gem just a short walk from our hotel.
A small waterfall where return water flows from Jozankei Power Station, the oldest hydroelectric power station in operation in Hokkaido.
You can enjoy the fresh greenery while soaking up negative ions.

Hoheikyo Dam

This leisure spot is full of beautiful scenery and was selected by the Forestry Agency as one of the "Top 100 Water Source Forests" and "Top 100 Dam Lakes." A spectacular water release is also held every day for tourists. On the way to the dam in a hybrid electric bus, you can see Kudan Falls and Senjo Rock.

Okujozankei Kamui Forest

A fruit theme park located near the Hoheikyo Dam. It is a spot with a wide variety of activities that you can enjoy with your children, from fruit picking such as cherries and plums to tree trekking and fishing. We also recommend strolling through the orchard garden on the vast grounds and enjoying the fruit trees and seasonal flowers.

Hakkenzan area

The Hakkenzan area is home to a variety of hands-on activities, including the Hakkenzan Orchard, Toyama Fureai Orchard, and Hakkenzan Winery. Why not try picking strawberries, cherries, and other fruits at the orchard, and enjoy wine and food at the Hakkenzan Kitchen & Marche next to the Hakkenzan Winery?

Hakkenzan area (horse riding)

This area is also home to a variety of experiential leisure facilities, such as "Wild Mustangs," where you can ride horses at the foot of Mt. Hakkenzan. You can enjoy close contact with animals and experiences that you cannot get at other parks.

Mikasa Ryokuchi Park

Equipment is available for rental, so you can come empty-handed.
There are 18 holes in total, and anyone from children to adults, even beginners, can enjoy the course.
